The College of Education for Humanities is an extension of the College of Education which was founded in (1992) and is the fourth college that was established after the College of Education for Girls , College of Medicine and College Engineering at Tikrit University and after the expansion of basic and higher studies in the university. It was split according to the university decree numbered (7/39/13237) in (08/26/2013) to two faculties of Education for Pure Sciences and Education for Humanities, which includes seven scientific departments: (Arabic Language - English Language - Art Education - Educational and Psychological Sciences - History - Geography - Quranic Sciences). The college seeks to continue providing the community with the required scientific specializations after graduated about fifteen generations - holding science and knowledge according to modern methods of learning - and adopting discreet scientific approaches in scientific research to be able to compete college outputs in the labor market. The college includes (43) classrooms that vary in preparation according to the scientific departments and are equipped with all the requirements for the lectures -as well as complete administrations for the scientific departments that have been prepared with all management requirements. The college also sets up a computer lab and an internet hall for (50) students and a library for more than 80 students equipped with scientific resources in all specializations. The college has sound laboratory in the English language specialization and a technical operator for students of the Department of Art Education. The number of students in the college for the academic year 2015-2016 reached (2544) male and female students distributed by (1147) male and female students in morning studies and (1397) male and female students in evening studies. The number of graduate students reached (451) male and female students distributed in all scientific departments except for the Department of Art Education as a newly established department. As for the number of teachers in the college, it reached (251) two teachers distributed according to specializations and scientific titles :(32) professors , (70) assistant professors , (96) lecturer and (53) assistant lecturer, and the number of employees is (110) on permanent and temporary staff. The college is now looking to the trend towards achieving advanced ranks in quality and academic accreditation by initiating the formation of specialized committees that ranged from community service to identifying weaknesses in the college for the purpose of addressing them and identifying strengths for the purpose of developing them and other committees focused on administrative and scientific performance efficiency.
